Merano & Surroundings – Worth a Visit!
We affectionately call the town “the pearl of South Tyrol.” We love its hidden corners and boutiques, its markets and restaurants. The tourist offer in and around Merano is particularly diverse:
- the Merano Thermal Baths
- the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle
- the Raffeiner Orchid World
- the Ötzi Museum
- the Kränzelhof Labyrinth Garden
- the Messner Mountain Museum – especially Juval Castle
- a visit to the Merano Winery in Marlengo or an aperitif at the City Vinotheque
- the chairlift from Tirolo to Merano
- the Wandelhalle with its beautiful promenade and the Powder Tower
- the Tappeiner Trail
- the Schnalstal Glacier
- authentic valleys and beautiful little spots
- …and all this just a few minutes from your holiday home, the Örtlerhof
Shopping in Merano
Merano's city center is a true paradise for those whose favorite hobby is shopping: boutiques, trendy jeans shops, and branches of renowned clothing brands can be found right next to gourmet stores, handbag shops, bookstores, and jewelers. There is nothing you can't buy here.
Markets
Anyone who enjoys browsing stalls for bargains, discovering hidden treasures at flea markets, or tasting fresh local specialties from farmers to take home will surely feel at ease at the markets.
- Large market: Friday morning, 8:00–13:00, adjacent to the railway station area, along Mainardo Street, Hofer Square, and Prader Square (food and clothing section)
- Small market: Saturday morning around Piazza del Grano.
